[I posted this message on windows.server.general but
that newsgroup appears to be inactive since nothing
including my message is appear there....so since this is
actually applicable to ALL Windows problem I am
crossposting the request...]

In the past I have downloaded and installed the Windows
Server 2003 or (XP) Help files on other systems but right
now my best searches of the Microsoft web site are not
finding the download.

Anyone know the URL?

I have found the article for installing such files, the online
HTML version, and even the Product evaluation kit (which
has them and WILL work but is inconvenient) but not the
separate download of the Help file install.

[ A friend needs these for his workstation. ]

To help "pay the postage" for this request, here is some of
what I DO know on the subject....

Google:
[ "windows server" 2003 xp "help files" site:microsoft.com ] ...or...
[ "windows server" 2003 xp "help files" site:microsoft.com download ]
1) Install Help content from another Windows computer, CD, or disk image
<
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...te_install.asp >

2) Win2003 Evaluation Kit (It will have the Help files of course) <
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...l/evalkit.mspx >
3) Seems to be the docs online:

Command line tool help Win2003 Enterprise
<

<snipped>

Herb, if you follow the first article you posted:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...te_install.asp

It shows how to do it. Go to Options, install help fules from other OS,
point to the Win2k3 CD in the drive, then click Find and it will show you in
the list below what help files it found and you can opt to install them. I
just did it...

I know how to do it -- as I said. What I need is the files
without using a (full) copy of the OS.

I have previously downloaded these files (for XP) from
MS and remember that Win2003 versions were there too.

(I wanted XP on a 2003 machine but a friend needs the
opposite.)

As I said in the original, without the CD or a copy of
Win2003.

The files are (or were) on the MS website but I cannot
find them so far today.

Perhaps someone from Microsoft will pick up on this thread and offer some
insight.

Sorry, can't help you there. If I see it I'll post back.
