I swear I saw a feature in Windows Server 2003 that allow the server to
answer to multip netbios names. But now I can't find the feature and I'm
beginning to think I dreamt it up.

What I would like to do is consolidate two file servers onto one but still
be able to preseve all the existing unc paths.

Can this be done?

Absolutely. Download the Microsoft File Server Migration Toolkit from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...ocs/msfsc.mspx

I suggest you read the KB article referenced in the above link. You can find
it here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];829885

Good luck!
