Hi

I am trying to connect a Windows Server 2003 to an
existing domain with 1 W2K Server domain controller.

It is at a remote site connected by a VPN to the main
site where the dc is. The remote site has 8 XP machines
auth by the dc accross the vpn.

I want to join the new server to the domain as the first
stage in setting it up as a dc at the remote site. When I
try this I get the following error text:

"A domain controller for the domain AA could not be
contacted."

However the following is in the details:

"DNS was successfully queried for the service location
(SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller
for domain AA:

The query was for the SRV record for
_ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.aa

The following domain controllers were identified by the
query:

aa1.aa"

The dc is called aa1 and it is obviously being
contacted!!!

Anyone got any ideas for troubleshooting?

Cheers,
Gordon
