Is it necessary to have the fire wall enabled? are there any detrimental
effects for not having the fire wall serviced running?

where do i find te fire wall in windows server 2003? there is nothing in the
control panel. the only reference to windows fire wall i have come accroos is
the firewall service.

Hi,

Go to Network Connections and select your network Properties. Click on
Advanced tab and there is either "Internet Connection Firewall" if you have
Windows 2003 without Service Pack 1 or there will be "Windows Firewall" if
you have Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 installed.

only general and authectication tbs are showing on the network adapters.
