Windows Server 2003 does not enable network

I just upgraded our lab server to Windows 2003 from Windows 2000. There
were no connectivity issues prior to the upgrade. The Compaq NIC is listed
in the Windows 2003 HCL.

The upgraded Windows 2003 server will not enable the network connection amd
cannot be pinged until an administrator logs into the server locally. Is
there a security or policy setting somewhere that will allow the network
connection to be made without having to sign on locally?

Make sure you update your Compaq drivers after any OS updates and set your
NIC so it cannot sleep. You should not have to be logged in to allow
connectivity.
