I'm having problems setting up a new W2K3 server to replace a W2K server. AD,
DNS and IIS are running on both and appear to be working normally. The new
server is intended to also act as a firewall/proxy server, so 2 nics and RRAS
is set up on it, and appears to be working. At the moment, the
firewall/filtering options are disabled or set to allow all traffic.
DHCP on the old server works fine. However, DHCP on the new server appears
to not respond to DHCP Discover packets. Network Monitor clearly shows DHCP
discover broadcasts on whichever nic I connect to, but no response from the
new server. Even with the old server's DHCP disabled, I still get nothing.
Manual IP config works (that's how I know RRAS is working), but the moment I
switch to DHCP I have problems. I've tried this from 2 WinXP clients and a
Vista client. With these units on the same segement as the old server, I get
DHCP config from the old server just fine. As far as I can tell, both scopes
on the new server are activated and the server is authorized.
Any suggestions?
