No. There is no such thing as a BDC with active directory.

I would suggest searching the MS knowledgebase for "upgrade" and "Migrate"
for information on the two main ways you move from NT to AD.

I posted this previously in the Server.Setup group but decided it might be
in the wrong place -- so I'm trying it here now.

I have an existing network with NT4 Server as a PDC, currently running
without a BDC. Three new W2003 Servers have been added to the domain, but
we're still running the NT4 as a PDC, which I basically want to get rid of
at this point.

I'm trying to find out the least complex way of doing this. Under NT you
could just setup a BDC and promote it. Is there an analogous process under
2003?

Sorry, this is only about my 3rd 2003 installation...

David you are about 6yrs behind the times!

Easiest way to upgrade to AD is upgrade your NT server to 2003. DCpromo it
to a DC then dcpromo at least one more 2003 server to DC for failover.

This will save you the time of redoing all of your user accounts.

This is a BARE BONES explaination so hit the 2003 server books and get up to
speed.
