Hi,
We have a 4 web machines under Windows NLB which are are having problems
with after upgrading to SP1.
The Non-Load Balanced interface has a live IP and a local IP, with a live
and local gateway (live has a lower metric than local). We have had problems
in the past and this is the only configuration which works for us, as the PIX
router has a rule to respond to traffic using the gateway from which it
origionated.
Since installing SP1, after a random amount of time, one of the machines
will stop responding to web requests. On further inspection, the live
gateway has vanished from the interface. When this happens, live IP machines
CAN ping the dead server, local IP machines cannot. As I understand it, the
machine still appears live to all of the other cluster machines, and is
invited to respond to web requests, however the PIX routing issue means that
the PIX will nto allow the response out!
A reboot fixes the problem (both gateways back on interface) for another
random amount of time.
I need to find the reason why the interface is droping the gateway!
If anyone has any suggestions, please get in touch!
Thanks
