Did your Windows blue tooth device come with any software for BT network
connection (which uses PPP over BT)? The BT USB adapter that came with my
Motorola headset included Widcomm software. I don't have BT for my Linux
laptop, but connected my Palm TX using BT through Windows to LAN/internet
(Windows ICS enabled on my LAN nic assigned BT IPs).
With Widcomm networking and ICS disabled, I was also able to connect my
Palm BT to LAN/internet with Windows running m-Router, which does its own
IP assignment and NAT. However, m-Router is a test program that I do not
think has any login security (no PPP username/password),
http://developer.intuwave.com/Downloads/m-Router (ignore the part about
needing m-Router 2 on your device).
In either case the Palm BT PPP was set up for auto IP and DNS with no
script. So depending upon your Windows software, maybe you
need to set
Linux to gets its BT PPP IP automatically.
The main reason I got m-Router was to do PPP over USB with the Palm.
