We are using windows 2003 AD and all clients are windows XP pro. There is an
OU in AD in which all the machines are having lot of restrictions. All the
printers and everything is managed through GP.
Since about 3 months or with the new deployment we are experiencing long
delays in logging in. Normally its about a minute when you login for the
first time and then after that its about 30 seconds to get in but now its
more then 6 minutes to get in. It took 6 minutes to get in after we put in
the login name and the password.
Is there a way we can track the login process. Any tool that can tell us
whats taking so long. I verified the DNS entries on the client machine and
see no problem with it.
Please help.
Thanks

On the client side its pointing to the correct DNS servers and on the DNS
server I can see the entry for the client computer. The client machine
resolves the AD controllers and the DNS servers correctly.

Any hints.

Can you test taking a computer out of the OU and logging into the domain?

If the login time speed up I would look at the group policies being applied
to this OU.
