Hi guys!
This isn't particularly a networking question, but I'm in this group
everyday and it should be a simple question for anyone who knows the answer.
When I run tape backups with the Windows Backup Utility in Server 2003 and I
reuse a previous tape I always have to right-click on My Computer, choose
Manage and go into the Media Pools and screw around with getting the tape
moved into the "Free Media" node before I can run a backup on the tape.
Is there any way to get the backup utility to just use the stupid tape I put
in the drive without complaining about it and having to screw around with
the media pools? I'm smart enough to not put a tape in the drive that I
don't want to over write it, and even if I did overwrite one I didn't intend
the world will still go on, so I don't need that thing being my "nanny".
Can it be done?
Thanks guys!
