Windows Backup/Mac Files

I have a WinXP Pro system setup as a file server for 10 clients. 4 are Macs
running OS X and the rest are Windows XP Pro boxes with SP2 installed. The
file server, a Windows XP Pro box has SP2 installed also (as well as all the
requisit updates and patches). A drive failed and I'm having to recover it. I
used Windows Backup Utility for the initial Full Backup and have it
performing Daily Incremental backups. While the restore has yet to complete,
I'm a little afraid of what I'm seeing. Many of the files created on the Macs
are showing up as two files. It appears that the backup split the Mac files
into their respective Data and Resource forks.

Here's a sample of what I'm seeing...

S:\
banners2.xls
._banners2.xls
giftcards.tif
._giftcards.tif

If someone out there is familiar with Mac/Windows files, could you let me
know if I should go out and drown in a bottle of Jack or am I imagining
things?
