Well I'd start by needing considerably more information on the exact
requirements ("Connect" can mean a lot of things) and the resources
available, current setups, etc, than you have seen fit to supply here.
At the basic level i'd start by making sure that they were either on the
same IP subnet or had a routable gateway between them so that the windows
and unix systems could ping one another. With that you now have a
"connection" of sorts. Anything else requires more information.
