When you log on from the Win9x PC, you enter the following info:

Username: Administrator
Password: *****
Domain: MyDom

The login fails with the message "The domain password you supplied is not
correct or access to you logon server has been denied". Correct?

On the PDC for your domain, enable both Success and Fail auditing for Logon
and Logoff. after attempting to login from the client, look as the security
log (you might have to look at the PDC and BDC) to see what account
attempted to log on and why it failed.

You may also try to remove and reinstall TCP/IP on the Win9x box...

Hope this helps,
Carey

you have to setup user accounts for each of the 98 boxes so the server can
validate login

bad user name or password. i'v check and rechecked the
user names and everything seems to be ok. i had one of my
people that has a 9x box log onto a win 2k system and
there username and password work fine. so i think the
server is working as it should. i also put a name in that
is not a user on the 9x box and it came back and told
me "user name can't be found". so that leeds me to beleve
that it is seeing the domain but can not log on not with
any user not even administrator. i've install new netowrk
cards and reistalled all network componets and still
nothing. what can it be. it's only the windows 98 and
windows ME o/s that all all of the win2k and XP boxes
work fine. i've done a virus scan on all the computers
and nothing comes up.

Have you tried scanning them for Spyware? It's long shot, but worth a try.

I had a similar problem during the past weekend, and tried everything
I was able to find in the news group and MS support. Tried patches,
installes, tricks, etc... Anyway, I finally noticed that the IP
address of the domain controller was incorrect in our WINS server for
some reason. And correcting the WINS record fixed the problem.
