Windows 98SE computer stops sharing

I've got one Windows 98SE computer that stops sharing it's
resources. I've got it set to user-level acces control.
We are using a Windows 2003 Server.

About 15-30 minutes after it boots up, it starts asking for
a password to access its resources. It may be that it only
asks for passwords from other WIndows 98SE computers.
Since it's user-level access control, there should be no
password, but I've tried that computer's password, my
computer's passsword, and the server administrator's
password. None work.

The only soulution I've discovered seems to be rebooting
the computer. It lasts from another 15-30 minutes, then it
must be rebooted again.

I've tried updating all the network adapter drivers.

We can still ping it and from it.

It still appears in the network neighborhood, but asks for
a password we try to browse to it.

Can anyone give me any idea of what's wrong?

User level access control means that a domain controller must be used to
verify the username/passwords. Is the Win98 machine losing connection to a
domain controller? Can you ping the DC when this problem happens?

Thanks for responding.

I can always ping the domain controller from the Win98
machine. I can also always ping the Win98 machine from any
computer on the network, including the domain controller.

After a time, when I open the network neighborhood, it is
empty except for the "Entire Network" icon. When I try to
access that it doesn't allow me to do it.

After that happens, I can still ping the domain controller
from the Win98 machine and the win98 machine from the
domain controller.
