Windows 98se can not see XP but XP Can see 98se

I have 2 computer linked through a router and they are networked. The desktop is running XP and sees and accesses the laptop using 98se perfectly. Although the 98se on the laptop can not see, access or ping the desktop using XP. What am I doing wrong?

Try disabling XP's default Internet Connection Firewall (ICF).

are they in the same workgroups? ...same protocols loaded?...file sharing
enabled?
