Windows 98SE and a Macintosh Network

Hello, I'm trying to set up a Windows 98SE computer to access a Macintosh
server. Is there a way to do this without purchasing a product such as DAVE
to run on each side? I've tried adding the domain name of the Appletalk
zone, but 98 still doesn't see any computers in the workgroup. Thanks for

Nothing that communicates via appletalk that I'm aware of.

However, macs have come with their own version of samba for quite a
while now so you should be able to network the two together using that
on the mac and let the 98se operate in its native smb environment.
