Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am a
college student working on an assignment for a Windows
2000 class, and I ran into a road block.
I know that Windows 98 does not provide security, but I
wasn't sure just exactly what falls under "security".
Here is my question.
If you have both Windows 98 and Windows 2000 machines
connected to a 2000 Server and domain:
1. Can both the 98 and 2000 users access the server
from any computer within the network through a sinlge
logon?
2. Also, if we want users to be required to log on
before accessing anything on their local machine, can the
Windows 98 machines do this?
I know that both items are true for the 2000 machines,
but with 98 lacking security features, I wasn't sure
about the 98 machines. From what I read, I think that
the 98 machines could logon to the server through a
single logon, but that you could not restrict them from
loging onto their local machines through a logon.
Can someone please help me? Thank you.
