Windows 98 hangs up on shutdown w/Netgear MA111 USB adapter installed

I just went through this same mess myself with the same
product. After talking to several people, I believe that
the problem is that plain old Win98 will not work with
this stuff. You will need an upgrade to Win98SE. I would
like to hear other people's comments on this issue since
the upgrade cost is significant.

The problem you are describing sounds very familiar to what happened with a
USB Cable modem on my friends computer. It isn't the MA111 it is the USB
drivers. The earlier version of Win98 has some problems with the USB
support. Not all of the USB drivers work correctly with it. I am not sure if
the USB support can be upgraded or if you have to get the Win98SE to fix
that problem.....If you find out please let me know.
