I attached a wireless usb adapter to my win98 machine.
The software recoganizes the router, but I am unable to
get internet access. The singal strength and link quality
are good. But the router does not see the win98 machine.
I have tried all known tricks and it still does not work.
Is upgrading the win98 the only solution to this problem

Does the adapter support the version of Windows 98 that you have? If not
then an upgrade may be the only solution.

I'm having the same problem with my US Robotics PCI Wireless Adapter.
Signal strength and quality are both good, but it will not pick up an IP
address from the DHCP Server on my Wireless Router. I tried the card in my
XP machine and it works great. The only suspect area that I have left lies
within Win 98. The System requirements state that it must be Win98/SE. I'm
not sure if that means either or if it must be the SE version. If anyone
has any advise on the topic, please chime-in.

Thanks,

Chris
