Hi, does anyone know if there's a trick to getting Win98
to see a wireless network? I have installed the D-Link
card & driver, it in turn has picked up an IP from the
wireless router so it's got a physical connection but I
can't ping anything or get out to internet.
The status of the card shows good signal strength and it
all looks good.
Please help!

Hi

you may have to join the network. Try clicking on the
network icon in the task bar. You should see what
wireless network are available. Clck to join one.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that there isn't any
network icon showing in the system tray - only the D-Link
icon which shows networkm status with no option to join
any network (I know what you mean, like in XP).

Any more ideas?

Are the TCP/IP default gateway and DNS server addresses set to the router's
address?

>I have a similar problem, but I installed a Linksys card

and software. Now, I can see the network, but I cannot
run or install AOL and I cannot get out to the network
either using my ethernet hard wired connection or the
wireless one. I have various error messages: "The
Internet connection wizard cannot loat the INTETCFG.DLL"
and "a required.dll file, MPRAPI.DLL" cannot be found.
Please help
