Windows 2008 Domain Controllers stopped showing up on network browse list.

I've noticed the last couple of days that our two 2008 DC's are not showing
up on the network browse list on desktop computers. For a few applications
this is causing a problem.

When I log in i am still getting my drive mappings etc. I have checked to
see that network discover is enabled.

If I connect to eitherof the two servers via remote desktop and click to see
the network list I see them, but again not on the desktops.

Any suggestions?

By default, computer browser service is disable in windows 2008. You make

Thanks. File and Print Share services are enabled on both of the 2008
servers (that are DC's) in question.
I made sure the windows firewall was off on both as well.

As I said before from two different XP workstations, the two servers do not
show up in the network browse list. They rae all on the same subnet.

any other suggestions?

The browse list is generated by the computer browser service, which is an
NT legacy app. It does not use Network Discovery, it uses Netbios over
TCP/IP. Check that the 2008 machines have Netbios over TCP/IP enabled.

I checked the netbios setting it is set to enable
our other 5 servers (including virual servers) all show up without a
problem..

its nonsense like that makes me wish i had stayed with server 2003<grin>
