windows 2003 starting question

Hi,
I am very new to Windows 2003 Standard. I have seen Windows networks where
each users' settings can be saved from computer to computer in the domain,
so for example, if I have an e-mail account in Outlook on one computer that
is on the domain, if I log on to another computer on the domain, the same
settings will exist. Also basic Windows information, such as Windows theme
is kept from computer to computer providing that the user is kept the same.
I am sure this is a typical Windows function, but with my current setup the
only thing that is unified across computers is username and password, so in
other words, I need to keep changing my preferences individually in each
computer on the domain, although the username and passwords are constant
across the domains.

How is this unified preference achieved?
