I have windows 2003 server with sp2.
When I try to connect thru remote desktop or map network drive, it takes
forever to connect.

Even if I am working on the server and try to click on start or any other
icon, it takes lot of time to load.

I checked my task manager and everything looks ok except inetinfo.exe is on
25%.

I dont think I have any virus.

I would appreciate if someone please tell me where to start.

More info needed. Did this suddenly start happening? If so, what's changed?
What do you run on this server? What are the hardware specs?

Do you need/use IIS on this server for any reason?

This is my domain controller and it has DNS and ms exchange installed and
running on it.

Nothing has changed and all of a sudden this server started acting weird.

Thanks

If you have Exchange, you have IIS (for OWA). When did you update to SP2?

It's really hard to guess what might be slowing your server down, without
seeing it, unfortunately.

I updated to sp2 about 2 weeks back.

Yes I do have IIS.

I just tested and ran IISRESET and everything was fine for an hour or so but
after that it happend again and again I had to run IISRESET and everything
is fine.
So something is causing IIS to slow down.

Any idea????

Thanks

Only SP2, no other patches? And does this coincide at all with the problem?
