Hi,

I'm having problems with one node of my cluster running Windows Server 2003
SP1 Enterprise. After several time (few hours or few days) it stops accepting
new incoming TCP connection. Running connections are still ok, but new one
are rejected.

With Ethereal trace, here is what I see for the new connection :
My System <-- SYN <-- Client
My System --> SYN,ACK --> Client
My System <-- ACK <-- Client
My System --> RST --> Client (RST follows immediately the ACK)

The problem is visible with IIS Web Server, IIS FTP Server, BMC Patrol
agent, McAfee ePO, and any DCOM or NetBios connection. UDP acces are still ok.
When it's possible restarting services can help : restart IIS FTP Server
make it work again.
But fow low level services like NetBios or Terminal Server, reboot is the
only solution.

It seems to me that all TCP/IP Server on my system are affected.

Does anyone understand what is happening ?

thanks for your help,

Elouen

Yes,

It looks like the same problem as these ones :
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;899599
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;910228 (§4.1.2)

When I set the SynAttackProtect registry key to 0x00000000, there is no more
problem. If the key is not set, my computer still start to go wrong after few
days.

Regards,

Elouen
