Im really hoping someone can offer me some advice. I'm really eating
the bullet on a Terminal Server installation I did.
My issues started 4 months into the install. The computer wouldnt boot
up. Would turn on then seconds later turn off. After some debugging I
realized if I left the network cable unplugged, the computer would be
fine. Then I would just plug in the cable when the login screen was
up. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE! I have installed a PCI NIC card to
replace the onboard thinking this would solve the problem but it did
not. Same thing.
So that issue has been lingering. Then almost 7 months later, all of
the sudden, the same computer's networking components are ALL
unchecked. No one knows how this happened. Event logs dont show
anything. I guess its possible a user who was terminal serviced in
could have unchecked them right? To me thats the only thing I have
come up with. I've never seen this happen on its own. Simply checking
them all off and hitting OK brought the server back onto the network.
Unfortunately my first issue bit me in the ass while trying to resolve
this new issue.
Ideas anyone?
Windows Server R2 SP1 Running Terminal Services.
Thanks,
Joe
