I was wondering how to get access to my expired Windows 2003 Server so
I can transfer files off the machine to another machine on my network.
I decided not to purchase a copy of this product and want to reinstall
windows 2K server on the machine. I have a bunch a pictures on it
(ones I took with my digicam). I forgot I had this stuff on there when
I did the upgrade to the eval w2K3 version. I can access the machine
locally by booting into safe mode, but booting into safemode with
network support causes the stupid expiration message to appear.
Typical MS tactic to force you to buy their software after you test it
for them and are forced to send information every time you reboot the
machine.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks!

Install another OS in a new folder, even another W2K3 eval.

Remove the hard drive from the box and put it into
another machine (runnign Windows 2000 SP3 or above, XP or
Windows 2003) and just copy the files across to another
drive.

The only thing you may have to do here is take ownership
of the folder and set the permissions so that you can
access it.

As long as the files are not encrypted you will be away
laughing.

Cheers
