Hi,
I'm using windows 2003 EE as a workstation and I need to install CISCO VPN
Client 4.6 to dial into to my work. While installing the VPN client I'm
getting and error GetINFClass error and the install fails. I read some place
that CISCO VPN client is not compatible with WIN 2003, but is there a work
around for this issue. An immediate response will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help in advance
SP

If Cisco says it isn't compatible with W2003, I think you're out of luck.

From
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/...0802d398a.html -
VPN Client Not Supported on Windows NT Servers
The VPN Client is not supported on any Windows NT server version (including
Windows 2000 and Windows XP/.NET/2003 servers). Only Windows NT 4.0
Workstation and Windows 2000 Workstation are supported platforms.

Do you know if it is possible to use the Microsoft VPN client to
connect since the Cisco VPN client is not compatible with Win2003
Server?

Thanks.
Mike

You can use whatever client you like, as long as it is fully compatible with
whatever you're connecting to. I believe you can use the native Windows VPN
client with a PIX, but I don't know - sounds like a good question to post in
a Cisco forum, or check their support site.

Cisco has supported L2TP+IPsec and PPTP on PIX for some time now. You'll
need to make sure you've configured one of these protocols on your PIX, then
you can use the Windows client to connect.

Note that if you use L2TP+IPsec, you'll need digital certificates on the
PIX and on the client. You can configure the client to use pre-shared keys;
search the KB on "L2TP preshared key" and you'll find the article that describes
how to set it up.
