Hi,

Sucsessfully update our home server to 2003 SP1 (already 2003) and
everything seems fine.

However, I'm now having problems connecting to the server using RDC
from an XP Pro SP2 machine.

If I connect to the machine as soon as it has booted, the RDC works
fine and I can manage the server, run programs, etc. If I wait 5 mins,
then I get the error "Remote Computer Ended the Connection"

I haved checked the new firewall in 2003 and it's off.
If I disable Remote Connection in the system control panel, I get the
message "Could not establish connection to the remote computer" which
is what I would expect.

I've looked long and hard on technet and cannot find any mention of
this error.

Can someone help please?

Your idle session limit on the server and/or user account may be set to 5
minutes. On the Server, go to Administrative Tools/Terminal Services
Configuration. Right click on RDP-tcp and select Properties. Click on the
Sessions tab and check your settings.

Hi,

I've cheched the RDP settings, and they are all set to the defaults.
I've tried to override the user settings on the "sessions" and set them
all to "never", but still get the same message.
