Hello All

I am hoping someone out there can help me.

My problem is recently i had a Windows 2000 Server go down it was my domain
controller for the network. All the users on the network are still logging
onto there computers with there cached user accounts. i would like to
recreate a new domain controller and all the groups and user accounts. I
would like to be able to somehow just rejoin there current user account into
this new domain. Or if there is an easy way to carry over all of there emails
and all of there settings without having to recreat and import everything.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Was this your only DC? If you create a new domain, it will not be the
same as your previous one, even if you give it the same name. You will need
to join each machine to the new domain.

Is there any possibility of recovering the server? If not you would
essentially need to start from scratch. That will be the only way you
will be able to "easily" get things back up and running again. If not
you will have a long road ahead of you. You will need to recreate the
computer accounts, domain, and move email over.
