Windows 2000 Server Acquring DHCP Addresses for a RAS connection

I have a W2K server that does not have RAS installed but it is acquiring DHCP
addresses as if it had RAS installed. The server has a static IP address and
when I do a IPCONFIG/ALL it only list that static address. I look into my
DHCP scope and the server takes up all available DHCP Addresses with a UNIQUE
ID of RAS. I delete those leases and after a few minutes the server reaquires
any available DHCP addresses. Any idea why this is happening?

There are two possibilities. Either the machine is configured to accept
an incoming connection or RRAS is enabled and is configured as a remote
access server.

Both of these conditions will cause the server to acquire two or more
extra IP addresses from DHCP. The server is operating as a RAS or VPN
server, not a RAS client.

The server is not a RAS server so I don't know how the nic would be
configured to accept incoming connections.

Did you look in Network Connections to see if an incoming connection is
set up? Did you check that RRAS is not enabled?
