I connected several computers to my home network. When I look at the
computer using network neighborhood I can see all the computers correctly.
However if I disconnect or turnoff one of the computers it is still
displayed in the network neighborhood. How do I refresh the window so that
it does not display these nodes that are no longer connected or turned on?

XP will automatically do this for you...it just takes a while.

XP's "My Network Places" wasn't designed to give an up-to-date picture
of the network. It includes shortcuts, created either manually or
automatically, to shared disks and folders on the network. Those
shortcuts don't go away when a computer is turned off. You can delete
shortcuts manually.

To see the computers that are currently on-line, click "View workgroup
computers". That screen is updated regularly. So is "Network
Neighborhood" in Windows 95/98/Me.

Usually, the screen is updated every once in a few minutes.
If you can't wait that long (and i have ben known to be impatient as well),
press F5 to refresh the screen.

Please note that it still could take some time before Windows realizes that
one of the nodes have disappeared from the network.
