I have tried several times to get the user login box to
appear so that I can log on to the network or even just
log on to the computer for that matter, however I am
never successful. After windows load I always have to log
off and log on under my user name to access the network.
That wasn't such a big problem before, but since I had
upgrade to Norton 2003 I have ran into a big problem. I
can not log on to the network using the same method as
before because there is a known problem with multiuser
accounts and so far there has been no fix. My choices are
to wait for them to fix the problem or try to fix the log
on situation. The only time that I have ever been given
the chance to log on before windows starts was just after
a fresh install of the OS but after I loaded Norton I was
never given the chance to log on from the start again. Is
there a vairiable in the registy that needs to be changed
or a service that needs to be turned on? This is really
strange and I am getting really frustrated because I
can't solve the problem. HELP!

I have a similar problem but have been unable to use the
suggested article to fix it.

I have a 2K server and 41 machines on my Domain.
about 31 are ME, 2 are 98 and 8 are XP
with 6 of the ME machines, they go to the Windows Login
instead of the domain login. They are set to join a
Micosoft Network not windows logon, auto logon is off and
the connections are known to be good.
When a machine is first turned on it goes to windows logon
and if you logout or restart it goes to the domain logon,
or if you try access a remebered share it will prompt you
for username and password.
I am unable to reprint these 6 machines due to the nature
of the information stored on them as well as programs
which cannot be reinstalled without causing a database
collapse. If anyone can offer any suggestions I'm all
ears.

What is listed in your network properties (what protocols, clients and
services) are installed on these particular ME boxes and what is the default
logon set to?
