I have 2 computers (both Win 98SE) networked using network cards and
Wingate software. Everything was working fine until I downloaded the
new (5.2.0) version of Wingate, then I couldn't get online with the
client computer. After fooling around for a couple of weeks, I can log
on and download my email on the client computer (using Eudora software
and Earthlink ISP) but when I try IE I get the "this page cannot be
displayed" message. Tried "refresh", no help. Does IE use a different
port that my Eudora email software. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

I'm not sure why you're using Wingate when Windows 98 Second Edition has
Internet Connection Sharing included at no charge, and for my money it's a
much easier product to use.

I was told that the Win 98 SE Internet Connection Sharing would not
work with the Direcway Satellite system. It's a 2 way system.
Can you tell me if this is true??
TIA

I believe it will work with the two-way satellite but not with the one-way
satellite that uses your telephone connection. Which do you have?

Richard
I have a 2 way system. I just tried to call Earthlink Tech Support and
ask them but of course they are closed for the holiday.

The current setup I have,(as described in my orig post) has been
working for over a year, but went south when I downloaded the
latest WEingate update. What did that do, reset all my settings to
default? Now I can't get back to where I was.

TIA

Well, you've got me; I've never used Wingate. You may have to check with
Wingate support to see what might be missing or misconfigured.

As for ICS and satellite services, here's a guide on how to set it up:
