I'm having the same problem as Doug, win98 not able to
see other computer in network neighborhood yet no problem
connecting to the internet. Previously stable system
until installed Mcafee virus and firewall (before network
attempt). Reformatted HD to start with clean slate. Win98
install hung, rebooted and completed re-install. System
stable until trouble installing ethernet adapter drivers.
System hung aftward. Removed device (when win98 would
finally let me)and installed new card with updated
drivers. System was stable but still nothing in network
neighborhood. Only once did the entire network icon
become visible. Set Client to Logon to NT Network and
system began freezing on restart, startup and shutdown,
added Protocol NetBEUI and still more of the same. Any
help and suggestions will be appreciated.
