win98 vpn connection over modem. which is my ip address?

i dial to the internet with my isp and then i type the ip address of
the vpn server. i cant see the vpn adapter with ipconfig or winipcfg.
i cant ping the vpn server either. how can i find out witch ip i am
being assign. thanks.

Start, Run, type WINIPCFG /ALL. Use the drop down box and select the VPN
adapter.

I think that is my problem i dont see a vpn adapater, i only see ppp adapter and
the network adater. i reinstalled ppp 1.4 and nothing.

What happens if you run IPCONFIG /ALL from the command prompt?

i think this is just happening with win98, when i connect to the vpnt
though the network my ppp adpater gets an ip from the vpn server,w hen
i connet through dial up my ppp adapter get the ip of the isp but i
does not get the ip of the network. is this supposed to be this way?
ipconfig /all shows the same as winipcfg.
