I have a lot of pcs which do not have file and printer
sharing installed. I have installed a new pc with win98
with file and printer sharing installed. All the pcs logon
to netware 5 servers. Is there any way the old pcs can see
the share on the new pc without having to install file and
printer sharing(this is not an option) on the old pcs

No. If you want to use shares on a Microsoft network you need to install
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks.

File and Print Sharing is a service, not a client...you only need to
have it installed if you want to share YOUR files and printers. It is
not necessary to access shares on other systems.
