I have a LAN at home, 5 machines, XP, 98SE, 95, through a
D-Link DI704P, to a ADSL modem. Everything worked fine,
and still is, except for the machine (98SE) I just
cleaned and reinstalled WINDOWS (98SE).

Although I made exactely the same Network configuration
it previously had (unless I forgot something, but can<t
see what), this machine at best, can see one of the
computers (although it cannot enter its shared resources).

Protocols installed : NetBEUI, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX (other
98 machines use those same).

After hours and hours of trials, I still can't figure out
what I may have forgotten...

Any idea ?

Thanks,

Robert

Particularly as you have xp machines present, it becomes preferable to
only use one protocol for file and printer sharing.

Another common unwanted byproduct of re-installing is the inclusion of
the registry value "autologon" which you might need to remove from
here.

HKLM/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/network/realmodenet
