Hi guys,

I have a Win98 machine that will connect to the network
(I can ping other machines) but will not join the domain,
so I can't browse or connect to other machines on the
domain. I just keep getting error msgs saying I am not
on the domain.

I have configured the network settings to client for
microsoft networks, ticked log onto a windows NT domain
and included the domain, I have also included the domain
in the dns settings. I am running a static IP address.

When I log into the machine, I am not prompted for a
domain. I just get the windows login dialog box.

From what I can gather, this machine has not logged onto
the domain before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using REGEDIT, open up the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
Network\Real Mode Net

and delete the value named "AutoLogon" if it exists.

Reboot the system and that should do it.
