win98 machine doesn't load lmhosts file

I've got a win 98 machine that will not load its lmhosts
file. I know the file is OK, because i use it on other win
98 machine and it works. But on this machine, nothing. It
doesn't matter if DNS is enabled or disabled or if I
preload the lmhosts entries or not.

any ideas?

Hi,

Are you trying to preload the netbios name cache by using #PRE in your
LMHOSTS files or are you just wanting to parse the LMHOSTS file?
What errors are you getting?
