hi,

i installed a 2003 domain with AD. the Xp and 2000 Log
on to the domain and can browse the network. the win98se
can logon to the domain but they cannot browse the
network. the 2003 server can access shares on the 98se
machine but the 98se machine cannot even open "entire
network" i have NetBios over TCP/IP enabled.

what could be the problem?

thanks

I believe you may need WINS for this.

i installed WINS and configured the win98 as a client but still, i can log
in to the domain, access the server by IP address, but cannot open My
network neigbourhood.

any new ideas?

Did you install the AD client for Win9x?

Hi,

I have installed the DS Client and still experience the
same issue at one of our clients. You can try the
following:

Move the FSMO roles to the 2003 AD server.
Install and configure DNS on this server

On the client:
Change the log on to Domain to point to the DNS domain
name. ex: hotmail.com
Change the DNS server's IP address to the 2003 Server.

After that I was able to log on to the domain but still
get the following message: "no domain server was available
to vaildate your password. You may not be able to gain
access to some network resources."

I click Ok and I can browse the network, but if I change
the password or let it expire, their is no prompt after
logging on.

Any suggestions?

bestera
