Win98 isn't always connecting to intenet by wireless d-link

Hi all,
I have 2 pc: my laptop running winxp, perfectly connecting to the wan
by my wireless, and an other pc running win98,that's connecting
SOMETIMES to the wan.
The second one pc is always connected when the first is connected to
the router, and quite never connected when is standalone.
Which is the problem? is the configuration on the win98? why sometimes
it's connected and sometimes (more often) not connected?

any idea?
