Thank you for responding.. no, the router is the default gateway, and
assigns ip's. tcp/ip is configured for dhcp.. how can I tell if there is a
dhcp client service started in 98? Why won't 98 "see" this router like my
xp pro and win2k boxes will. also, the pc with the 98 os is a dual boot. the
win2k os on another partition has full network and internet access.... I'm
stumpted. ?? hmm.. winipcfg only has PPP adapter showing.. is this
relevent?
