I have been working on upgrading a church notebook from 95
to 98 and connecting it to the church network for printing
and file sharing. For the upgrade I formated the HDD and
performed a clean install.
Under 95 the PCMCIA modem was detected and reconized.
Under 95 the PCMCIA 16-bit NIC was detected and reconized
I got leds on the NIC but was unable to estabish
communications with the church network.
I upgraded the notbook to 98 and now none of the PCMCIA
cards are reconized as inserted into the sockets. I have
attempted to use the detect new hardware wizard and it
does not detect them. I attempted to simply install them
and get the message that they are P&P and to plug them in
and restart the PC. It does not work.
I can put the cards into a new notebook with XP and they
are detected and funtion.
Do I need to locate the Phoenix Card Executive for Windows
98 to use these cards ?
Are there any other items that I need to investigate to
make these PCMCIA cards work ?
Thanks for your time.
