I suspect that a firewall is causing the problem. What firewall did
you turn off? Was it XP's built-in Windows Firewall, or a firewall
program (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc)? If one of those firewall
programs is installed, you must leave the Windows Firewall disabled.
Did you do an upgrade installation from an existing WIN2K installation
to WINXP Professional? Or did you do a clean installation of WINXP
Home or Professional? If you did an upgrade, un-install and then
re-install any firewall program.
