Problem:
There is about 7 Win98 Mahines and they are not able to
connect to the 2003server. error messages "the username
cannot be found" or "incorrect parameter"

situation:
I am at a site that all workstations have to have static
IP address.

What I have done to configure so far:
1. entered the IP address of the Server into the DNS on
the workstations.
2. entered the domain name in the DNS suffix.
3. added the computer name into the "computes" section
of "active directory" (specified that it was a pre-win2000
machine
4. added the user account in "active directory"
5. added the computer name and IP as a "New Host(A)" in
the DNS under "foward lookup zones"

Please help I need this to be up by monday morning
thanks everybody
chad

The first thing to check is that you have the latest AD client installed
on the W98 machines.

Even with this, W98 can have trouble logging on. W98 is happiest using
Netbios names and set to logon to an NT domain in the networking options.
