Lots of stuff here about getting Win98 and XP to talk...
all my clients in a mixed 98 - XP LAN see each other ...
.... it's come down to this XP can open files on a shared
Win98 folder ... my 98 clients can see XP clients, can see
shared folders and files on XP clients but when opening a
file on an XP client shared folder get "Access Denied"
messages (in all applications) ... haven't taken a hard
look at this yet ... but would appreciate hints as to how
to resolve this.

Thanks

MK

Another poster kindly provided this link in reply to an
apparently related issue:

http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...p_filesharing/
03userpasswords.htm

I think this will serve to resolve my issue - also MS
Knowledge Base Article # 304040 - provides a good, in
depth overview of: "How to configure file sharing in
Windows XP"

Thanks
