I have 2 computers, one running Windows98 and the other
WindowsXP. In the Network Neighborhood I can see the Win98
computer FROM the XP computer but NOT vica versa (from
Win98 I cannot see XP computer).
I can map the XP from Win98 but it is still not in the
list when I click on the Network Neighborhood and Entire
Network. It would not be a problem except I want to access
the printer through the network and the printer has to be
connected to the XP computer. I could not figure it out
how to map a printer on the network, I am not sure it is
possible? Or how can I get to see the XP computer from the
Windows98 computer on the list of Entire Network?

Thanks, Susanna

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
but one of them. Details here:

Windows XP Network Protocols

3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
Details here:

Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP (NetBT)
