What tells you that you have win98v4.1, and how do you know that's the
original, not Second Edition?
Right click My Computer and click Properties. Original Win98 says
"Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.1998", and Second Edition says "Microsoft
Windows 98 Second Edition 4.10.2222".
If you have original Win98, go to the Linksys web site and see if you
can find a driver for your network card to download.
In my experience, it sometimes takes several attempts to get a Linksys
network card driver to install correctly. I've had so many problems
installing Linksys network cards and drivers, on multiple versions of
Windows, that I won't buy Linksys any more.
