Hello,
I have a group who uses Windows98 to connect to my central server. They were all able to access the server and work remotely without any issues.
Suddenly they cannot log into the sever anymore. They get the "the remote computer may be down, you may be having network problems" etc.
It is a remote office with a handful of 98 machines but mostly XP Pro machines. I had one of the users on a 98 machine try to connect to a different remote server (my home machine not on his network) and he could get to the logon. I also had him turn on remote access on one of the XP machines on his same LAN and he could get in. He tried the primary server, no connection "remote computer may be down..." While the XP machines can connect to the main server w/out problem.
So I had him uninstall/reinstall, no fix. I had him open a DOS prompt then telnet to my server on port 3389, it worked. Yet, remote desktop will not connect. I had him uninstall Remote Desktop Client and install Terminal Service Client, no change.
Anyone out there have any ideas?
Thank you.
